Eligibility

1. Parent's consent for the Korea exchange program

2. GPA 3.2 or above (1st semester and 2nd semester respectively)

3. Attendance 95% or above (1st semester and 2nd semester respectively)

What is the overall process of the Korea Exchange Program?

    1. Student: Program registration through https://forms.gle/UjroyaypV9meUokP8

    2. Student: Selection of the university of interest (Only one university)

    3. CHRIST coordinator: Nomination of students to the partner universities (In October)

    4. Student: Online application submission to the selected Korean university (Only one university)

    5. Korean University: Sending documents to student (e.g. Admission letter, Invitation letter etc.) in December.

    6. Student: Visa document preparation

        • Contact visa agency of your choice

        • An agency that has regularly provided a visa service to the previous exchange students

    7. Student: Payment of the 3rd year tuition fees to CHRIST University by January 2022 (Note: Tuition fees to the Korean university are waived)

    8. Student: Informing the COE, the IPM office, your Dean, your HoD and your class teacher etc about your Korea exchange program participation through clearance form and credit mapping.

    9. Student: Departure to South Korea in February 2022

    10. Student: Submission of CIA 1, 2, 3 assignments of the 4th Semester to your subject teachers

    11. Student: Giving End Semester Examinations of the 4th Semester after return from South Korea at CHRIST University

What are the Korean universities available for the Korea Exchange Program?

  • Chonnam National University (CNU)

  • Dongguk University (DU)

  • Handong Global University (HGU)

  • Kyungpook National University (KNU)

  • Seoul Women’s University (SWU)

  • Sookmyung Women’s University (SMWU)

  • Soongsil University (SSU)

Can I apply for multiple universities?

  • No. You can apply for only one university.

Can I have the subject list of the university for the exchange program?

  • Available lists will be shared with the registered students by the CHRIST coordinator

On an average how many credits can I apply for?

  • 5th semester: 18 credits

  • 6th semester: 18 credits

Can I apply for any subjects of my choice?

  • No. You need to first choose the subjects related to your course.

      • E.g.) If your course is EPS (Economics, Political Science, Sociology), you need to choose three subjects related to your course. After that you are free to choose other subjects.

How much is the approximate expenditure per month in Korea?

  • In Seoul: Rs 45,000 ~ Rs. 55,000

  • Other cities: Rs 30,000 ~ Rs. 40,000

Can I apply for the Korean government scholarship?

  • The CHRIST Coordinator will nominate only one student as per GPA. Selection for the scholarship is not guaranteed.

What is the academic calendar of Korean universities?

  • 5th Semester: March to June

  • Summer Vacation: July and August

  • 6th Semester: September to December

How can I learn the Korean language before going to Korea?

  • Attend the free online Korean course for the registered students

  • This course is without credit

  • A certificate will be issued by CHRIST Innovation Centre upon the successful completion
